Aluminum Ingot Feeder

Slowly melting to save labor and space while reducing CO2 emissions

In many casting plants, the molten metal melted in a centralized melting furnace  is transported to the at-hand holding furnace. However, if the production quantity fluctuates and the holding time in the melting furnace increases, the energy efficiency can drop. One way to resolve this is to introduce an at-hand melting furnace for each casting machine. Implementing this system can be difficult in terms of space and money. Our system picks up ingots suspended in a dedicated returnable container and directly immerses them into the existing at-hand holding furnace. It is a space-saving and inexpensive method to melt nearby with the existing at-hand holding furnace. (A separate heating source is required.)
Since the ingots are slowly immersed, moisture and impurities do not get trapped, preventing contamination of the molten metal. This method eliminates the need for the ingot preheater.

Features of our system

⑴ Adopting suspended ingots and a vertically-inserted returnable container , the ingots can be inserted with a simple one-finger hand, reducing destacking hours and waste products.
⑵ Heating sources can be installed even in the at-hand holding furnace’s confined melt chamber, so at-hand melting with the existing holding furnace can be realized with less space and low costs.
⑶ Changes in production quantity can be flexibly handled. As the energy efficiency is higher than holding the molten metal in the centralized melting furnace, the energy consumption drops, and CO2 emissions are reduced.
